How can I inspire?

Scripture

"This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners" - and I am the worst of them all. But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life. (1 Timothy 1:15-16)

Observation

I wonder if I ever give others new energy just by being near me. I wonder if through my testimony, or my service, or my words, if I ever inspire others to pick up the pace or finish the race.

Of course I should! We are God's examples on earth of His great patience and power and so I must be an encouragement and an inspiration to those around me that God is their answer.

Application

What do I need to do in order to inspire people to give their lives to follow Jesus?

I need to show people God's love and grace through my attitude, my words, my family, my life, my choices, my behavior and my priorities. I must have strength and courage to live under God's will and not man's. That means I need not fear what other people think of me. I need to have a faith that is firm enough in God's work in me to withstand the pressure of trying to measure up to anyone other than Jesus. I must shine the light of Jesus through who I am and what I do so that others "...will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life."

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
May I help to draw others closer to You. May I be an example that gives hope. It is only by Your love and grace toward me, that I even have a chance of loving others.
