My heart is devoted to what?

SCRIPTURE
His heart was devoted to the ways of the LORD...(11 Chronicles 17:6)

OBSERVATION
Here's some background. 3The LORD was with Jehoshaphat because in his early years he walked in the ways his father David had followed. He did not consult the Baals 4 but sought the God of his father and followed his commands rather than the practices of Israel. 5 The LORD established the kingdom under his control; and all Judah brought gifts to Jehoshaphat, so that he had great wealth and honor.
Because Jehoshaphat's heart was devoted to the ways of God, he found favor with God as well as his enemies. God elevated him as a leader. Blessed him. Jehoshaphat could have easily caved. He could have gone with the flow and devoted his heart to something else...but he didn't and God blessed him.

APPLICATION
I hope what was said about Jehoshaphat can be said of me...that people notice that my heart was devoted to the ways of the Lord. What's my barrier to this? I've got to be free from the fear of man. I need to care more about how God sees me than how people see me. When I care more about God's approval (which He has already given me through Jesus) than man's approval, then I will be free to have a heart that's totally devoted to the ways of Jesus.

PRAYER
God, give me the courage to be free from the fear of man so my heart can be fully devoted to You and Your ways. In Jesus name, Amen.
