Pass It On

9-15-08

SCRIPTURE
Psalm 145:4 One generation will commend Your works to another; they will tell of Your mighty acts.

OBSERVATION
It's crucial to make sure the next generations understand what God is like. I don't have to use abstract verbiage to make sure my kids understand that God is good. I just tell them the stories from the Bible on most nights as they are getting settled in their beds at night. I help them enter into the stories like Moses and the Israelites in the desert.
"We were hungry and we got food."
"We were thirsty and God provided us with water."
"We were hunted & chased, and God protected us."
I want the next generation to get it and I've been given the responsibility of passing that baton to Cole, Noah, Sara & Jake. I don't want to drop that baton. Hopefully, in Jenny and me, our kids will see how good God is and they’ll pass it down to the next generation.

APPLICATION
Continue telling the stories to my kids in a way that they easily see that God is good and can be trusted.

PRAYER
Thank you God, for using something as simple as story to enable us to pass Your mighty acts and works on to a whole new generation of Jesus worshipers.
